Wetland planting event at Exploration Green
Calling volunteers: Come plant a wetland around the Habitat Island at Exploration Green! The island situated in Exploration Green’s Phase 1 lake will be ready for native trees and wetland species, creating a refuge for migratory birds and waterbirds. TCWP is a part of the redevelopment of the former golf course into a state of the art stormwater detention park, and is providing the stormwater wetland. Planting will take place over two Saturdays. Earth Day at Exploration Green
The Texas Coastal Watershed Program will host visitors and volunteers at the wetland plant nursery from 9am to 12pm, as part of the Exploration Green Earth Day. Have some muddy fun for a good cause! Join TCWP staff as we demonstrate how to propagate plants in the wetland plant nursery, then it’s your turn to get new plants potted up.
