The Houston Parks Board is putting on a celebration for the long-awaited pedestrian bridge over Brays Bayou at Mason Park. TCWP has been invited to meet with the park goers and lead tours of our stormwater wetland along the path to the bridge. The Mason Park Marsh is an early example of how wetlands can be designed and implemented to treat pollution in stormwater before it runs into the bayou.
The Parks Board says, “Join us to celebrate the grand opening of Mason Park Bridge on Saturday, September 22! Brought to you by Houston Parks Board, the Grand Opening event will be full of family-friendly activities including a FREE 5k Fun Run/Walk at 8am, sports activities, canoe tours of the wetland, live music, and more. Be sure to bring your picnic for the group picnic at 10am in the park following the race. Get to know Brays Bayou Greenway and be a part of the ribbon cutting that will connect communities on both sides of the bayou.” For more information, visit: http://bit.ly/2LylWOy
