Andrew Knuppel, AICP, Lead Planner

Andrew Knuppel serves as a Planning Program Manager for Texas Community Watershed Partners. In collaboration with partner localities, agencies, and organizations, he assists with planning efforts to help communities reduce their risk from natural disasters and improve their quality of life. He is particularly interested in land use planning and equitable community development as strategies to help communities implement and achieve their vision for a sustainable and resilient future.

Prior to joining TCWP, Andrew worked in comprehensive planning and zoning administration roles with Albemarle County, Virginia. His primary responsibilities included master plan and small area plan development, community engagement process design and meeting facilitation, and demographic and geospatial analysis. Andrew holds a Bachelor of Urban and Environmental Planning and will complete his Master of Urban and Environmental Planning in December 2020, both from the University of Virginia. His research focuses on mid-century American suburban politics, land use planning, and the environmental movement. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP).
